Something must be askew
with my fashion sense,
(if I ever had one)
that I feel I must
decorate myself with signage –
tees and caps of
some place or some team
emblazoned on them.
When my wife travels,
I get the tee shirt whether
it’s Pittsburgh or Petra.
When I go to a minor league game,
such as the Cyclones in Coney Island,
why must I festoon myself with a
shirt attesting to my attendance?
I figure it’s my need to belong
to some place or some organization,
or is it my need to stand out,
that I am not anonymous,
not a one-color fabric person?
So tell me that mine is
a particularly cute cap or tee,
and I will feel good for the
length of a nine-inning game.
