RIP LUIS TIANT

One of my all-time favorite pitchers went to his grave.
An American League cult hero that pitched for Cleveland and Boston.
Tiant mesmerized the fans at Fenway Park during the ’75 World Series with Cincinnati.
A first game complete victory with an assortment of pitches.

The “hidden ball trick behind his neck” was his outrageous trick pitch..
Most definitely, colorful and charismatic.
Overshadowed in ’68 as his numbers were absolutely astounding.
Lost to Denny McLain for the Cy Young after McLain won 31 games in ’68.

A throwback to the past.
Never considered for the Hall of Fame.
Almost pulled it off with the Red Sox in ’75.
Could have run for Mayor of Boston.

His post career was quiet.
The sports writers loved his approach to Baseball.
A solid career and rest in peace, good fellow.
