Joanne was the youngest, and shy and modest,
so I’ll speak for her here
I know she didn’t like it whenever
Ted Williams was cited as the last .400 hitter,
but I don’t think she got as upset as I did
And we are the two siblings
with the highest combined career batting average
And that average would have been even higher
had the league continued into
what would have been Joanne’s peak years
And we both died of Lou Gehrig’s Disease;
I wonder why baseball and football players
have a greater incidence of that disease
than the general public
