THE LONGEST NIGHT

You might ask
what was I doing up at
3 am, east coast time?
Was I I insane or
was I having trouble
falling asleep?

No, I was watching on TV an
18-inning World Series game
between the L.A. Dodgers
and the Toronto Blue Jays
on the west coast
at Dodger Stadium.

It was tense and exciting,
one of the most thrilling
games I have ever seen.
L.A. now is up two games to one.
(As of this writing, it is tied 2-2.)
I am grateful for having
witnessed an historic game,
one that took over six hours to play.
I feel special having been involved
in baseball history.

I can always catch up on sleep.
