No, literally,
a baseball IS talking.
“Me! – I’m talking, you hear?
And I have just reached
the pinnacle of my profession,
making it to the majors,
only I found out that the
the average life span of
a ball like me is only 8 pitches!
What an incredibly short life,
and what’s worse, I don’t get
to choose what happens to me.
I can get scuffed, dirtied,
or hit out of the park.
Surely, my life is worth more,
but they can do what they want.
I only cost $7.00 to make,
and there are so many of us.
At least, put me in the hands of a pitcher
who can throw me at 100 mph – whee!”
