He did not develop a cure for cancer,
new safe, effective contraceptives,
a novel vaccine against the next pandemic
or a medication to prevent dementia.
He doesn’t teach children
in middle school or kindergarten,
give neonatal care
or palliative aid to the dying.
He doesn’t try to help reduce
the growing global warming,
or the insane mass shootings
guns problem.
All he does is play ball
and he just signed
a record $700-million deal
with the LA Dodgers.
In this country
we have priorities.
