a mean wind wandered
through the bleachers
at the game tonight
causing popcorn and
discarded peanut shells to
blow across the ballpark
and gather by the home dugout
there were more foul balls than
I’ve ever seen at a game
and I knocked my beer over
standing for the seventh-inning stretch
the royals lost the game
in the ninth [again]
that’s the series almost over
and we’ve blown the play-offs
this game sucks
but I’ll be back tomorrow
because…
you never know
