The SPEED of WIND and DIRECTION of WIND
Are so very important to the game.
All players depend, every now and then
When e’er pitching and hitting is their aim.
What is that I hear, each year after year,
That pitchers’ stuff isn’t working today.
Yet it should be clear, that wind is to fear.
Its speed and direction affect the play.
The hitters’ long ball, seems to hit the wall
Stopping and dropping just short of Home Runs.
But that far-off wall resisteth the ball
When wind tops pitchers and hitters and fun.
