Diehards declare, “Mathwise we’re still in.”
While skeptics scoff, “It’s your mad delusion.”
We once shared big dreams for good reason.
Leading the West raised hopes at mid-season.
Successful trades had us believing.
But, the team alas was simply deceiving.
We retreat now to: There’s always next year!
It’s our annual mantra for the planet to hear.
